Welcome to Sonic Shed. A music space and a music community in Yolo County. We offer comfortable & reliable rehearsal spaces to help your band unlock its potential.
We also encourage our community of local musicians to collaborate and support each other on our musical journeys.

Getting started
How it Works
Sonic Shed currently has one room available. In order to accommodate multiple bands, monthly renters secure their same day & time each week (which can be changed if available) and pay a monthly rate. Our monthly option includes special perks (see below)

The Rooms
What are the rooms like?
Sonic Shed currently has one room ready and a second room coming this summer:
The current room is 20’x12’ with 10’ ceilings. It is sound-conditioned and equipped with a drum kit and a PA system. Load-in of your remaining gear is very easy.

More Info
- Where are you located? Sonic Shed is in Davis near Sudwerk.
- Can we play loud? Yes! Sonic Shed has no neighbors. The rooms have good separation and insulation, but you will likely hear other bands when you are in-between playing your songs.
- Are the rooms good for recording? Multiple rehearsal rooms may be making noise so high-quality recordings may be a challenge. But we can try to schedule sessions to accommodate recording.
- Do you have a recording engineer? There is a mobile engineer available who brings his equipment for recording sessions.
- Is the location safe? Sonic Shed is not accessible to the public. It is behind a security gate that requires a code and there are also several security cameras.
